On this World Dance Day (29th April), Sadhya Dance Group organised the event "No Boundaries" in the association with Trinity Vents at Siri Fort Auditorium. It was a dazzling affair where different dance forms from across the nation participated. The event started with an introduction of each dance group performing in the event, they received a token of appreciation by Shri Vijay Goel, Hon'ble Minister of State for Statistics and Programme Implementation. After his inaugural speech, the whole audience was uplifted to a high life state by energizing drum rolls and large dancing puppets which emerged from amid the audience and slowly they made their way to the stage.
They allowed the first group of Odhisi dancers to enter the stage. It was a beautifully synchronized dance comprising of an elegant hand-feet coordination. The sound of their ghungroos filled the air with rhythm. As each group had a span of 5 minutes to them, the beautiful dancers slowly faded away in the backstage and Ursula Dance Group came on the stage, with their swirling circular motions they amazed the spectators from the start and the choice of music and poetic contemporary style left all mesmerized. In the span of 5 mins, they made some wonderful lifts and leaps.
Claiming the stage next, came a group of Bharatnatyam dancers and fixated at their spots, they enraptured all in their beautiful choreography. The succeeding performance had acrobatic leaps and kicks having swords and shields as props. A smooth, cool and refreshing hip-hop style was next.
Following that came a Manipuri folk performance, playing mridang live, as wild energetic sword fighters clashed swords in frantic movements. After such a dynamic performance came an enlivening group with their swag and urbane style, dancing at the songs of Bruno Mars, matching his ultra-smooth voice with their sexy moves.
Santosh Nair, director of the event and owner of Sadhya Dance Group, had done a brilliant job by providing the audience with a different flavour each time. After such a modern touch, he gave a classical touch as a Kathak group came next. The whole blue-white dress code and big circling motions just filled the audience with awe. They crisscrossed each other and presented a view of what looked like 'stars whirling in a kaleidoscope'. Next performance was melodramatic and theatrical with their play of lights and slow movements. At times, on one side of the stage were fast, flamboyant dancers making flashy moves and on the other side were unrushed, measured, slow movements and headstands. Showing an amalgam of different emotions. Succeeding them was a rather large group with a sensual style of contemporary and a touch of hip-hop. The whole execution had a jazzines to it, making one to beg for more. A wonderful folk comprising of traditional Ghoomar and Garba staged next and in the end, all groups came one by one and gave the last glimpse of their styles. The event came to a stop with Santosh Nair extending thanks to all participants and behind-the-scenes production.
